Dr. Randy Gibb, PhD, joined GCU in July 2014 and first served as the dean of the Colangelo College of Business for eight years before he was appointed provost. In his previous role, he and his team grew the business college based upon the pillars of servant leadership, ethics and entrepreneurism and promoted the concepts of free market capitalism and business as a form of ministry.
Additionally, Dr. Gibb has honorably served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force. He commanded two Air Force flying units and retired as a colonel and command pilot. He also has a wide variety of academic leadership experience: he taught as department chair of the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Behavioral Science and Leadership Department, helped lead the human systems integration program at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio as a senior military professor at the Graduate School of Engineering and Management Department and served at Arizona State University as an associate professor and chair of the Human and Environmental Systems Department. Dr. Gibb’s career has extensive experience in aviation safety, human factors, visual perception and spatial disorientation, as well as leadership development.
